Goal: Through shared experience, engaging catechesis directed towards the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, and prayer experience candidates are empowered to give witness to faith and to Jesus by word and deed; be vital members of our faith community and experience a deepening desire for the Eucharist and a communion with the Risen Lord.
Prerequisite knowledge and skill- Beyond high school age and have not been Confirmed
- Baptized Catholic and has received first Communion
- If married, they are married in the Catholic faith or have an irregular marriage corrected before Confirmation
Proximate Preparation
Proximate preparation is a 10 week overview of the faith for those who
have not been actively learning and practicing their faith; are
returning to the faith; and desiring the Sacrament of Confirmation. A retreat will conclude this study and prepare the way for immediate preparation.
Immediate Preparation
Immediate preparation is a 6 week period focused primarily on the spiritual readiness for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. A retreat prior to immediate preparation will be required. -
NOTE: St, Thomas Adult Confirmation program follows the guidelines and curriculum set forth by the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston.
